Partial Care Program at Nova Mental Health — Fair Lawn, NJ

Partial Care Program

What Is Our Partial Care Program?

Adult Partial Care at Nova Mental Health is a structured outpatient program in Fair Lawn, NJ, that runs five days a week, five to six hours a day. Adults receive group therapy, individual sessions and skills-based treatment such as CBT and DBT during the day, and go home each evening.

At Nova Mental Health, our Partial Care Program (also known as a Partial Hospitalization Program, PHP) offers a structured, intensive, daytime treatment option for individuals living with mental health challenges who require more support than typical outpatient therapy — but do not need 24-hour residential care. In this program, clients receive comprehensive therapeutic care during the day, then return home in the evenings, allowing them to maintain connections with home, family, work, or school.

Partial Care is ideal for people experiencing moderate to severe symptoms — such as mood disorders, anxiety, trauma-related issues, or other psychiatric concerns — who benefit from daily structure, clinical oversight, and intensive therapy. It bridges the gap between inpatient hospitalization and standard outpatient treatment.

Who Can Benefit?

Our Partial Care Program is designed for individuals who:

  • Are experiencing significant mental health symptoms that interfere with daily functioning (e.g., persistent depression, severe anxiety, emotional instability, trauma reactions).
  • Need consistent, frequent therapeutic support but prefer to return home each evening rather than live in a residential setting.
  • Require a structured, supportive environment to stabilize or regain emotional balance before stepping down to lower-intensity care.
  • Benefit from a combination of therapies — group support, individual therapy, psychoeducation, skills training — delivered in a day-treatment format.
